Life, for all of us, changed for the better two years ago when we added Bacchus to the pack. Moose wasn’t alone anymore and he loved the attention from Bacchus. But puppies are high energy, and Moose, now fifteen, isn’t. As much as it pained to me admit it, Bacchus needed someone, too.
Love at first race and chase. You hope. You picture, you visualize, but you never know. Will they get along? Will they fight? We were lucky. Moose accepted the new puppy, and when Loki met Bacchus? Sparks. The two immediately began racing around the deck and house, taking turns chasing each other. Someone not me was crying, and there were tears in my eyes as well. My wife and I hugged. And cried some more.
They are inseparable now. Yes, Loki wants whatever Bacchus has. Yes, Moose has to duck and cover now and again as his house is turned into a papillon speedway. But he is happier, and his youngest pack member adores him. So do we.
Chasing Cars – Snow Patrol
We’ll do it all
Everything
On our own
We don’t need
Anything
Or anyone
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
I don’t quite know
How to say
How I feel
Those three words
Are said too much
They’re not enough
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we’re told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that’s bursting into life
Let’s waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads
I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we’re told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that’s bursting into life
All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they’re all I can see
I don’t know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
